Julie L. Padilla, CPA

Julie Padilla, CPA has over 20 years experience in public accounting, dealing with a wide variety of industries, closely-held businesses, and small to medium-sized businesses. She has been preparing tax returns for partnerships, corporations (both S and C), individuals, trusts, estates and not-for-profits since 1995. Specific areas of experience include Domestic Production Activities Deduction, Credit for Increasing Research Activities, Multi-State Entity and Individual income tax returns, Multi-state Payroll Issues, Foreign Income Exclusion, Business Plans, and Reviewed and Compiled Financial Statements. 

Padilla has extensive experience in representation of clients before the IRS, Franchise Tax Board and the Oregon Department of Revenue through correspondence and face to face contact.

Julie has a wide variety of experience in many industries, including real estate professionals, restaurants, retailers, construction, winery and vineyard, hospitality, photography, manufacturing, authors, farming, adult foster care, and professionals such as attorneys, doctors, dentists and insurance agents.

Padilla has donated her time and talent to several not-for-profit organizations and community service clubs including Rotary clubs and chambers of commerce. Julie is a member of the North Medford Rotary Club, and serves as Treasurer of Rotary First Harvest.

Padilla is licensed in Oregon and is a member of the Oregon Society of CPAs.

Glenn M. Cunningham, MBA, CPA

Glenn's work as a certified public accountant and business advisor draws on 25 years of business experience, most recently as the general manager of a high-volume, strategic business unit of a Fortune 500 company, and combines business consulting, accounting and tax services with wealth planning for high net worth individuals and private and family-owned companies. He is experienced in tax planning, risk analysis, strategic planning, cash flow management and financial modeling.

Before entering public accounting in 2005 his professional career was focused on business management and included senior executive positions at Amazon.com,  Seattle; Harry & David,  Medford; and American Greetings, Cleveland.

Cunningham has served as adjunct faculty in the MBA and MiM programs of the School of  Business at Southern Oregon University.

Glenn holds an MBA from the McCallum School of Business at Bentley University,  Waltham,  Massachusetts, and has completed postgraduate studies in accounting at  Seattle  University.

Cunningham is actively involved in our communities and serves in a wide-variety of volunteer roles.  He is currently the president of the board of the Rogue Valley Symphony, has served on the board of the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation, is a member and serves on the board of the Rotary Club of Ashland, is a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge and has served on the board, and as treasurer, of Seattle Arts & Lectures.  In addition, he has acted as a teaching volunteer with Junior Achievement and has provided no-cost tax assistance through the United Way.

Glenn is licensed as a CPA in Washington, Oregon and California, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California, Oregon and Washington CPA Societies, the Oregon Association of Tax Consultants and the Estate Planning Council of Southern Oregon.

Don LaBella, Office Manager

As Office Manager, Don is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office including client relations, accounts payable, billing, inventory, scheduling, and income tax return processing.

Don joined Nagel & Padilla in July 2010 after a professional career which included operating his own business for 10 years in Boston, Massachusetts.

Customer service excellence has always been the foundation of Don's career successes and he brings this expertise to the management of the office. His ability to "see the big picture" while at the same time being very detail oriented serves to make his interactions with clients a smooth and satisfying experience for both.

Don has a Bachelor of Science from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York and previously had his real estate license in Oregon.

Jessica Roady, Staff Accountant

Jessica is in charge of accounting and payroll preparation. Her areas of expertise include real estate and construction, restaurants and hospitality, health care practitioners, retail, not for profit organizations and Oregon political candidate reporting.

Jessica joined Nagel & Padilla in 2008, bringing with her a deep bookkeeping and accounting background including 15 years experience with QuickBooks. She has 12 years of business management experience from operating her own payroll and accounting consulting practice.

Her prior accounting experience includes payroll processing, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and financial statement preparation.

Kat Cox, Staff Accountant

Kat's responsibilities at Nagel & Padilla include tax preparation relating to individuals, entities, fiduciaries, and exempt organizations. She is also involved in tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll and QuickBooks.

Kat brings to Nagel and Padilla 6 years of accounting experience in the not for profit, retail, health care, government, and outdoor industries. In her work, she focuses on quality control to serve a wide variety of clients and their needs.

Kat Cox, a lifelong Southern Oregonian, joined Nagel & Padilla in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern Oregon University. In her time at SOU, Kat was a member of the Accounting Students Association. She is studying to take the CPA exam in Oregon and is a CPA Candidate member of the Oregon Society of CPAs.

Josh Bakke, Staff Accountant

Josh's current responsibilities include tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and exempt organizations, as well as payroll preparation and cash flow planning. Josh also has experience in business planning.

Josh joined Nagel & Padilla in 2010. He has accounting background working in the medical industry, and has also spent time volunteering his services for various not for profit organizations performing internal audit duties and business planning.

Josh is a graduate of Southern Oregon University, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and is currently working towards his CPA designation for the state of Oregon.


Michael Bates, Staff Accountant

Michael's responsibilities at Nagel & Padilla include tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, fiduciaries, and exempt organizations. He is also involved in tax planning, bookkeeping, and QuickBooks.

Michael joined Nagel & Padilla in 2011 after four years at Martin H. Levine, CPA, LLC. He has over twenty years experience as an office manager, staff accountant, materials manager, and in public accounting. He also volunteers for the Elks Club and has served on the board of local Little Leagues for the last eight years. 

Originally from New Jersey, Michael graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
